‘What do we learn from all this?’, a phrase coined by the Scottish Commemorations panels, was set out in response to the 100 years since the first world war. Over a five year period the panel delivered a programme of events to inform people of Scotland’s contribution to the war. The panels concluding project was to deliver an artwork which represented these Scottish events and what people from today had learnt from these events.

Lateral North were appointed deliver an exhibition which worked with young people and told stories of the First World War specific to Scotland. Alongside Soluis Heritage our approach was to work with Scotland’s five print studios where we wanted 100 students to tell 100 stories 100 years on from the First World War Armistice.
